Produce Donations
In 2016 we donated 8,700 lbs of produce (free of charge) to veterans and veteran caregivers at the Charles George VA Hospital. Additionally, we grew over 6,000 lbs of produce that was consumed by our farm community members. The donation garden was designed using colored agricultural plastic, creating a massive one-acre American Flag Garden.

We believe our high quality produce “feeds the body,” whereas our beautiful cut flowers “feeds the soul.” In 2017 we began donating thousands of fresh flowers to veterans and their caregivers at our VA Hospital donations. In addition to receiving free bouquets for their personal use, veterans were encouraged to take an additional bouquet as a gift for their doctors, nurses, and caregivers.

When we first kicked off this program in June we had no idea how incredibly impactful this simple heartfelt gesture would become. These weekly events provided real nourishment, physically and emotionally, feeding both the body and spirit. We are extremely grateful for the farm community members, volunteers, donors, and local businesses who made this vision possible.
